Hello All Soccer Families:

Thank you for your patience while waiting for the practice schedules for the upcoming season.  The club was planning on having all of our teams included in the WSSL league that our U14 teams participated in last spring.

Unfortunately we were informed recently that the league was not able to pull enough teams together from the Southwest to offer us a SW division in the league.

Our U18 Girls team has opted for a spot in the regular WSSL which means strong competition - but also a very heavy travel schedule.  The club did not feel that we
could be committed to the extensive travel for the younger age groups.

This brings us back to a non-league schedule of playing the usual suspects - Ridgway, Cortez, Durango - with some fill-in games with Montrose / Delta and whoever else we may be able to find.

The U18 Girls will start practice this week at the Town Park Festival field - M / W / F at 3:45 to 5:15.

The U18's will have their first games this coming weekend in Telluride at the DownValley field on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th in Grand Junction.

As for the rest of the age groups - we have decided to postpone the start of the season until the week of August 30.

The original plan was that if we were in the WSSL league we would be starting league play the weekend of the 28th.  As of Friday the 20th we have only received registration material from 28 players.  Because this is a busy time for most of you we have decided to allow an extra week for players to get registered - so that we can figure out where we are with numbers at each of the age groups.

Please see below for the pre-season "Meet The Coaches" schedule. We encourage parents to come along with their player athletes, bring completed registration forms and introduce yourselves to the coaches.

For anyone needing cleats we have approx 20 pairs available in varying sizes. They cost $5/pair, with all proceeds benefiting the soccer club, or bring along your
old ones and we'll try to exchange them for you.

The proposed practice schedule is as follows - but it may need to be revised based on numbers / field use:

• U12 Girls - M / W / F - 3:45 to 5:15 Town Park Festival Field
  • Coaches:  Leah & Hannah Kitchenhoff
  • Come meet them this Weds from 3:45 to 4:30 at Town Park.

• U12 Boys - M / W /F - 5:15 to 6:45 Town Park festival Field
  • Coach: Lanier Nelson
  • Come meet him this Weds from 5:30 to 6 at the HIGH SCHOOL soccer field.

• U13/14 Girls - T / TH - 3:45 to 5:15 Lawson Hill
  • Coach:  Jeff Bush
  • Come meet them this Weds from 3:45 to 4:30 at Town Park.

• U14 Boys - M / W / F - 5:15 to 6:45 Town Park Festival Field
  • Coach:  Jason Lilly
  • Come meet him this Weds from 5:30 to 6 at the HIGH SCHOOL soccer field.
